Sat 12th May

Malachians held the Player of the Year function this evening in the Dock 401 function room of the new Titanic Bar. The evening was a great success compered by committee member Noel McVeigh and the awards presented by Jim Jess, Secretary of the Belfast and District League and Chairman of the Co. Antrim Junior Cup Committee.

First team goal of the season went to Seamie McDonnell for his effort against Downpatrick. Top scorer for the season was James Moore, who also won the players' POY award. The top award however, the manager's POY award went to team captain Conor McHugh who had an outstanding season

Second team goal of the season went to Michael McVeigh. Top scorer for the season was Chris Saunders. Players' POY went to Micky Devine and the manager's award went to goalkeeper English John Murphy who received a standing ovation as he picked up his trophy.

A special clubman of the year award went to John "Spider" Mullan for his reliable and invaluable contributions throughout the season. Well done to all who received awards and those who organised another great evening. for a photo special of the evening, courtesy of Niall Murphy click here
