It's official, the local derby is on....again!  Mals have been drawn against neighbours and hosts Grove Utd in the third round of the Steel and Sons Cup on Sat 11th September ko 2.30pm, the referee will be Alan Hayes. After being turned over by Grove last season as they progressed to an historic Border Cup victory, Mals will be keen to get their own back this time. Both clubs are looking forward to crossing swords once again.

Malachians eventually overcame Ballynure OB 2-1 in a second round tie of the Steel and Sons Cup at the Stadium of Sand but only after extra time. Brendy Lowe scored before Mark McCourt came off the bench to score the winner in extra time click here for report

The seconds team had to fight hard to grind out a superb 1-0 victory away to Killyleagh. Dimebar got the winner, a superb overhead kick, and Patrick Kavanagh got manager Frankie Young's man of the match award. For a report on the game click here
