Late Show Progression In The Clarence at Dromara

A late show, both in normal and then in extra time, eventually saw Malachians progress in the Clarence Cup at Bellsbridge, but they were pushed all the way by a youthful and spirited Dromara side. The home side took the lead in the final fifteen minutes of normal time, which finally stung the Malachians side into action and they equalised late on courtesy of a brilliantly delivered Terry McDonald corner which ended up in the net. In extra time Eddie Begley converted before a superb flowing move down the right flank from the hard working Light saw his whipped in cross delightfully swept home by Taplin to guarantee the victory. Dee Hughes was deservedly given the manager’s man of the match afterwards but there were also excellent contributions from keeper Fionntan Carson, a stunning save in the second half, Downey, McDonald and Light. Thanks to Dromara for their hospitality after the game , their captain Nathan Hamilton is seen here with referee Ciaran McAllister and Mals skipper James Begley
